PORTION CONTROL FOR A LEANER BODY Portion control is essential to master for a health and wellness. I'm often asked what to eat to lose weight and build muscle, my answer is always the same, to eat a small balanced meal every three hours to jump start the metabolism and balance blood sugar levels. Eating a small meal is just that - smaller portions. Oten time's people go all day snacking without eating a nutritious meal consisting of lean protein, complex carbohydrate and veggies. By the end of the day when they get home from work they're ravenous and end up eating the entire pantry filled with sugars, preservatives and sodium. GETTING STARTED

HOW TO GET MOTIVATED I'm often asked, "How can I get motivated to exercise???" Well here's what I tell people... It all comes down to loving and caring for who you are now; loving you enough to take charge of your health and wellness. As with everything in life you have to prioritize your time and goals. If you really want to take better care of your body then you have to set at least 20 to 30 minutes aside each day to get your heart rate up. Your body craves exercise equally as it craving proper foods and nutrition. Eating clean is 90% of the equation in achieving optimal health and fitness. Eat small meals frequently consisting of a lean protein (at least 25g), a complex carb and veggies every 3 hours and drinking at least 80 oz of filtered water a day will kick start a lazy metabolism. Hey everyone! I just wanted to explain why my blog is missing so many photos.. my computer got a nasty virus on it and distroyed my links to my photos... what a mess it turned out to be.... so now I get to go back through and find all my pics on my server again. I apogize for it being under construction...but it won't be for long. My family and went away for the weekend, we had a ball! Here are some photos from our retreat, we stayed at the Zarmatt in Midway, it's absolutely beautiful! BURN FAT FASTER

BURN FAT FASTER! Did you know that there's a smarter way to burn unwanted fat then to spend endless hours doing cardio & aerobics in the gym? It's called Interval Training (IT). You can literally burn more fat with less exercise, that means you'll have more time to accomplish your goals for the day by incorporation IT into your fitness program. To burn fat faster you need to incorporate IT into your fitness routine. What are intervals? Short energy bursts incorporated throughout a cardio routine, typically done every 4 to 5 minutes with moderate intensity between for 20 minutes. There are two types of intervals, short intervals lasting from 20 - 30 seconds and long intervals lasting 60 - 90 seconds. Intervals are a high intensity using large muscle groups in the body. Sprints are an excellent way to do IT to burn fat at optimal levels. The beautiful thing about doing intervals for 20 to 30 minutes a day is that you'll burn fat faster during and after exercise. EMBRACE LIFE I'm passionate about assisting others to be the best they can be. I continually strive to improve myself and to keep a positive mindset. I live my life on purpose. I live with immense gratitude for everyone and every life experience I am blessed with. Years ago I used to struggle with anxiety and occasional depression. When I was at the depth of coping with chronic fatigue syndrome I was extremely tired, weak and worn down. I would often complain to my family and friends about how hard life was. I knew I wasn't as happy as I could be. Then one day I decided that I was done living a low energy way of life. I decided to change my way of thinking, I wanted a happier & healthier quality of life. I began by letting go of limiting beliefs that kept me from reaching and achieving my goals. I began reading educational books on diet & nutrition, doing charity for others, being more kind and understanding to those that I once judged or felt hurt by. Soon I began feel

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

BE COMMITTED Everyone I know wants to lose weight at the first of the year. In order to accomplish this you have to be committed to your goals! And you have to do two things daily: Exercise and Eat Clean. Make exercise a top priority, set your workout clothes on your bed at night to help motivate you in the morning. You don't have to workout hard, 20 to 30 minutes a day is a great start; before long you'll find yourself wanting to workout longer and harder (especially when you start seeing your physique begin to take form). Eat clean - by that I mean, no sugar, white flour or processed foods. Your body is a hard working machine that requires clean, pure fuel. If you get the munchies grab some cRave and drink Liv Sxinney to balance your sugar level. And try to eat your last meal by 6 or 7 pm, consisting of clean protein and lots of fresh raw veggies. The 5lb Meltdown

The Holiday Aftermath.... Well, I'm sad to say that I have to lose the dreaded aftermath of the holidays... I got sick just before Christmas and didn't feel well for several days following. During that time my willpower went down the drain, I decided to enjoy the holiday treats and high calorie meals - big mistake! I have to say again, it absolutely, positively was NOT worth it!!! So now I have to take care of damage control. I'm grateful however that I reminded myself to the misery overeating causes me. I seriously am not as happy when I feel over weight and out of shape. But luckily I was able to jump back up on that wagon and I'm holding on tight , in fact I've handcuffed myself to it... lol . I was too weak to workout for a week but now I'm finally back to feeling strong enough to workout again - yea!!!! Unfortunately, I gained 6 lbs (most of it water weight) but have already lost 3 of it - thank heavens!!! I'll have the 3 more gone by the end of next w
