5 Keys to Live Joyfully

5 Keys to Live Joyfully

In today’s world life is beyond busy. As a wife, mother and entrepreneur I know how crazy things can be. It is a balancing act to care for my family, home, horses, work and myself. If I’m not careful it’s easy to fall into feeling overwhelmed with all I have to do each day.

Women often come to me asking for assistance. They tell me their struggles and issues, and it always touches my heart to hear their stories. As I listen I take in every word and energy of emotion expressed and unexpressed. When I ask them what they do for themselves each day, most of them say, “I don’t have time for me, I have too much to do.”
It’s easy to put yourself aside and only care for your family, friends and loved ones, but when you do that you’re not honoring “you,” which causes more stress and emotional hunger deep within. Taking time each day to focus on your heart's desires and goals will empower you emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

Life is Meant to be Joyful

Life is meant to be enjoyed and embraced in all areas. How often do you find yourself working all the time or just doing the same routines day in and day out? Most often than not, when you fall into stagnant water it’s because you do not have balance in your life—your body, mind and spirit are not connected, thus causing despair and frustration. When we become beleaguered or discouraged it’s because we’re not taking time out of our busy schedules to relax and play.

Living a joyful life of love and happiness is fun! It is about going with the flow of peace and tranquility as we move downstream in the energy of life, admiring the beautiful scenery along the way. Life is not meant to a struggle, our attitudes create either peace on earth or strife on earth. We were created to have joy, each and every one of us! Happiness is found within your heart, it is not a destination or something that can be obtained—it’s a part of you.

5 Keys to Live Joyfully

1.      Family first. Put family first, always! When you allow life to take over your tender moments with your spouse and children, you are blocking out the essence of life. Family is everything. If you don’t have a happy, loving family you won’t have a happy life.  Speak kindly, say “I love you” often and respect each other. Have one night a week for family night doing something that you all love. Have dinner regularly together—turn off all electronics and focus on each other.

Make your home a refuge for your precious family. Play beautiful music and light a delicious-smelling candle to set the tone for your home. Keep your home clean and clutter free; your home is a direct reflection of your thoughts and beliefs. You can look at your surroundings—home, car, workspace as well as your body—and know how you truly feel inside.

If your home is a mess then that indicates that you have confusion and cluttered thoughts and emotions. To change that, shift your way of thinking from negative to positive, release limiting beliefs and replace them with optimistic thoughts of thankfulness and appreciation. You will be amazed at the direct impact it will have on your home and family.

2.      Live in an attitude of gratitude. Live in an attitude of love and gratitude for your family and for the many blessings in your life. Look for the good in others and be thankful for the "tender mercies" in your life. Let go of limiting thoughts that do not serve you. You have the gift and power within to be, do, and have what you wish for.

When you have an attitude of gratitude, you will attract more to be grateful for. Do what makes you excited and enthusiastic about life. Take time to fill your heart with happiness and allow the wonderful blessings of life to expand your heart and home. Love what you do. Be true to you by honoring your heart’s desire—make “you” time a top priority in your life. If you do you will be a better, happier, more loving wife, mother, and friend.

3.      Embrace child within. We all have a child within us. Too often we forget what brings us joy. By embracing the fun side of you, inner child your life becomes more alive and vibrant, and you will look and feel younger by the attitude and energy you radiate. Doing what you love brings about peace and serenity, it raises endorphins, which will also increase your immune system and self-esteem.

Embrace what you love! If it makes you smile, then do it! Find the simple pleasures in everything that comes your way. Look for the good and uplift others by sharing your child-like enthusiasm. Be as a child, love unconditionally, forgive freely and live from your higher self. Children can teach us so many invaluable lessons of love, trust, and faith. Make it a point to follow your bliss and trust in your intuition.

4.      Surround yourself with positive friends.  You can look at your friends and know what type of person you are, like always attracts like, it's a universal law.  If you're not proud of your friends and it's time to regroup and ponder who you are.  Let go of friendships that suck your energy or bring you down.  If you're always trying to help someone who is constantly complaining and needing your approval and support, you will feel weak and sad more often.

Surround yourself with powerful, happy, positive friends who make you want to be a better person; in return be a kind, supporting friend. Choose friends who are excited about your goals and dreams. As you become more positive you will attract more positive people into your life, and you will find that your friends support your dreams and make you feel better. That is when you know that you have shifted into a higher state of being.

5.      Think intentionally. Your thoughts are extremely powerful; use them to create a brighter, happier future by thinking on purpose. Focus on the good in life, be grateful for all that you are and have and then expect miracles every day. Pray often and take inspired action. When you pray you will shift your energy into a much higher and more powerful way of being. Take time each day to serve others and to be a difference in the world. Share your gifts, talents and energy with those in need.

Think positively, let go of self-doubt that causes you to sabotage your efforts in living a joyful life. See as you wish it to be. Set goals that demand your thoughts and then live by that which you have set forth to do. By following through with your dreams, you will be motivated to continue to accomplish your dreams. You will be happier, healthier, and wealthier.

By following these keys, you will be happier and more joyful! Let your hair down and have fun! Laugh with your family and friends often by sharing quality time with them. Be the person you desire to be by honoring all that you are now. You are magnificent! Be positive and cherish the beautiful world around you with thankfulness, and before long you will find that you have much more to be thankful for!

Take time today to do what you love: spend time with your family, call a close friend or read a good book. Make it a habit and soon you will realize just how much more joyful life is.
