The Joy of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! This time of year, the energy in the air is filled with thanksgiving as people from all walks of life are thankful for the many blessings in their lives. I too am extremely grateful... My heart overflows with thankfulness and delight as I relish in the love of my family and the abundance I am continually blessed with.
Thanksgiving is a beautiful reminder to reflect and appreciate the infinite blessings received daily. It opens our hearts and minds to that which is plentiful in our lives and brings a sense of peace and gratitude. Having an attitude of gratitude is the foundation to happiness and fulfillment.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of love, joy, peace and happiness in our lives. It turns what we have into enough, and attracts more to be grateful for. It turns sadness into gladness, lack into plenty, changes confusion to clarity, and resentment into love. It can turn a simple meal into a feast, a house into a loving home, a stranger into a dear friend. It can heal the downtrodden heart and uplift the soul. It is the gift of giving and the essence of receiving.
This Thanksgiving, start a gratitude journal. Write three things you are grateful for each day. And as you retire for the night, give thanks for all that you have—including your miraculous body. Then go about your day uplifting others, complement and show appreciation to those you interact with, be kind, gracious, and giving.
May this Thanksgiving be filled with fond memories to cherish for a lifetime... and may love and gratitude fill your heart and home.
