My Whole Wheat Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Sunday's My Favorite Family Day

Today was a wonderful day... I woke up to rain hitting the windows, it was a perfect day to sleep in and snuggle... It was heavenly to wake up to the sounds of our children talking and laughing as they made a hot breakfast together.

Generally on Sundays we go to church, but today we stayed home and watched General Conference on TV. I love learning from our church leaders, I always feel uplifted and inspired to improve my life to become the best I can be. I also love General Conference weekend (they're held each Oct & April) because we spend the weekend together as a family. We stay in our pj's all day playing games and baking delicious meals together, it's a bit of heaven on earth. =)

Today my youngest wanted to bake pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, (he loves to bake) so we made our favorite cookies, and I must say that they turned out yummy! I always use fresh whole wheat flour that I grind with a grinder, it makes for extra nutritious cookies and best of all my kids love them as much as I do.

Sundays are also one of my favorite days because I eat more freely. I don't eat as clean as I do throughout the week, it's so nice to enjoy sweets with my family and to know that my body is restoring its glycogen stores to ensure I have the needed energy for my workouts the following week.

I re-create all recipes to be more healthy & nutritious. I use natural ingredients that the body can process, half the fat and high fiber whenever possible. For those of you that love pumpkin as much as I do this time of year here is my Pumpkin (low- fat) Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. If you make them let me know how you like them.... I absolutely love them!!!

THE ART OF VISUALIZING YOUR DREAM BODY

THE ART OF VISUALIZING YOUR DREAM BODY
"Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil."~James Allen
It’s empowering to know that we can literally alter our life experiences & physique by tapping into the power of your mind.  By having thoughts and feelings that are positive, the mind will be able to create the world of your dreams in great detail.
Your thoughts are like a magnet, a simple thought will have a weak magnetic power just like a small magnet does. A powerful emotion such as joy or fear will have a much greater magnetic pull, thus it will magnetize more of what you are feeling into your life.
Our thoughts are magnetic on every level, that is why “like always attracts like”, it’s a universal law—the Law of Attraction. Being mindful of your thoughts through the power of prayer, visualization, mediation, goal setting and affirmations you will …

Burn More Fat in Less Time with HIIT
If weight loss is at the top of your list for your fitness goals, then cardiovascular training should be part of your workouts regularly. Cardio is essential to burn unwanted fat stores to enable you to see your awesome defined muscles.
The best fat burning cardio method is high-intensity interval training (HIIT).  An HIIT session is tough, it’s not easy, but the results and benefits are more than worth it. You can literally burn fat with less time doing HIIT cardio, that means you will have more time to accomplish your "to do list" for the day by incorporation interval training into your fitness program.

Paleo Low Carb Protein Spiced Pumpkin Cookies

Paleo Low Carb Protein Spiced Pumpkin Cookies

I absolutely LOVE this time of year! I relish the smell of fall in the air and joy of baking delicious fall desserts for my family. I enjoy baking traditional recipes for my family, however, I don't eat sugar nor do I eat wheat or high carb flours.
Sugar and high carbs only cause weight gain and inflammation in the body, which is why I eat a clean diet free of trans fats, processed foods, sugars and high carbs.  Protein is also a high priority in my diet, I incorporate protein into my recipes when fitting. I use whey protein isolate in all my baked recipes.
And for good reason, protein keeps blood sugar level and aids in maintaining muscle mass, which is a must for me to keep my lean physique. So needless to say, I make up a lot of low carb recipes to suite my diet and to continue to have fun baking for my family and friends.
